Educational Version
Many schools of pharmacy use a proprietary PMR system during "dispensing" classes and, while the
generosity of the supplier is appreciated, the systems often present problems in that, generally, they
are not technically suited for use with a relatively large group of students or indeed as a teaching
resource.
Over the last year CoAcS have developed a PMR system that, while designed as a commercial product
for use in the community pharmacy, has also been specifically designed for use with student groups.
This element of design has taken into account both the technical and educational requirements of a
teaching system.
From a technical point of view, ePMRx, when used as a teaching resource, is driven from a SQL database
that allows teaching staff to distribute prescriptions to individual students and record student activities
with a minimum of effort.
